St Peter and St Paul's

St Peter and St Paul Catholic Primary Academy

By the end of KS1 (Year 2), pupils should already be familiar with the 2, 5 and 10 multiplication tables, know the abstract symbol for multiplication and demonstrate the commutative property of multiplication (5×4 = 4×5).

Year 3 - They will practise the above as well as recalling and using multiplication and division facts for the 3, 4 and 8 multiplication tables.

Year 4 - They will practise the above as well as recalling and using multiplication and division facts for the 6, 7, 9, 11 and 12 multiplication tables.

At the end of year 4, pupils will have to take the Multiplication Tables Check (MTC), which will test their multiplication knowledge up to 12 x 12.

At St Peter and St Paul, we use Times Table Rockstars (ttrockstars) to support their recall of multiplication and division facts. Each child has a personalised area (Garage) which focuses on their individual needs. Below is a parent guide to help you understand the resource.
