Hope you have all had a lovely weekend. Welcome to Week 2, Day 6 of our home learning experience. Keep your day structured so you have breaks as well as doing your learning. Remember, just try your best with each activity.

Monday 30th March 2020

English

There is quite a lot of writing here but don’t be put off – Read on!

Adverbials are our main goal for this week.

Remember they tell us more about the verb - typically expressing place (in the garden), time (in May), or manner (in a strange way).

Have a quick look at this video clip Fronted adverbials and then there are two short tasks that I’d like you to do today.

Firstly, an online activity - Nouns and Verbs Quiz which has been set as an assignment on Busy Things (log in using this link Busy Things).

Secondly, there is a worksheet about adverbials of time that I’d like you to complete in your home learning book. Write each sentence out in full to show which fronted adverbial links with which other sentence part.

Although these are fronted adverbials (used at the beginning of a sentence and have a comma after them), adverbials don’t only have to be used at the beginning of a sentence.

As an example:

Yesterday morning, Lorna had cereal for breakfast.

This could also be written as - Lorna had cereal for breakfast yesterday morning.

Maths

Have a go at the Time Quiz on Busy Things (log in using this link Busy Things) which has been set as an assignment plus log in to your Times Tables Rock Stars (TT Rock Stars) account, go into the Garage area and play for around 10 minutes.

RE

Think about these questions and then answer them fully in your home learning book.

  1. What do you think a generous heart is?
  2. What does it mean to be gentle?
  3. Why is it important to forgive?

Science

Have a go at the Human Skeleton – Common names on Busy Things (log in using this link Busy Things) which has been set as an assignment.
