Today is the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth. She was an amazing nurse who looked after the sick in the war. Find out all about her in today's lesson. To celebrate her work and the work of our wonderful NHS nurses we are all being asked to shine a light in our windows tonight at 8.30. I wonder why it has to be a light???????

English – Tadpole’s Promise Contractions Tadpole’s Promise has two main characters, the caterpillar and the tadpole. It is set by a pond. Can you think of any other things that might live in or near the pond? A French artist Monet, loved ponds and the plants and animals that grew there. He grew his own plants around the pond in his garden. You can still visit this garden today! Look at all the paintings he did using this setting, on the PowerPoint. Name the things you see in his painting of the bridge over the pond. (I see a bridge, water, lily pads, willow, lotus blossom, trees, shadows) Can you write 5 sentences about his picture, using the names of the things you see? Try to use adjectives to describe the things you see e.g. The beautiful green bridge crosses over the pond. Challenge yourself to use more than 5 words in each sentence. *Remember a sentence begins with a capital letter and ends in a full stop. |
