Acorn Daily Planner - 31.03.20

Tuesday 31st March 2020

Good Morning Acorns,

We have been excited to see the different pictures of your family and the wonderful minibeast designs!  Keep up the good work.

Today in Literacy, we would like you to reflect on the minibeasts we have been learning about.  Which is your favourite?  Why do you find this minibeast so interesting? Can you use your phonics to help write a list of minibeasts in your home learning book.  Try and write the names of 5 different minibeasts.   Make sure you use your phonics to help spell each word.

In maths, we would like you to think about all the different shapes you can see in your home.  Share the 2D Shape PowerPoint with your grown-up.  Can you name each shape?  Can you describe each shape?  Afterwards, create your own shape picture in your home learning book.  Please use different shapes in your drawing.  For example, you may want to draw a flower.  You might use lots of triangles for the petals on a flower.  If you decide to draw a robot, you may draw a rectangle for the body and a square for the head.  We will look forward to seeing your drawings!

The first topic activity is all about healthy living.  Please share the PowerPoint attached with your grown-up.  Discuss the various types of food that are good for our body and the food we should eat in moderation.  Why is it important to exercise?  How can you exercise at home?

Then in your second activity, we would like you to think about different types of fruit.  Can you design a tasty fruit salad on Purplemash?  What is your favourite fruit?  We will look forward to seeing your tasty creations!

We hope you have a wonderful day.
