It has been great to see your wonderful smiles, the paintings have certainly brightened up our day. You are all working so hard at home. Today we have some new challenges for you to complete at home.
We hope you enjoyed yesterday’s space story. We would like you to share Back to Earth with a Bump again with your grown-up. The story is attached below. Who is the main character in the story? Yes, it is Hal. Can you draw a picture of Hal in your home learning book? How do you think Hal felt when he was chosen for that special mission? How would you feel? Hal may have felt happy, excited or joyful. He may have felt apprehensive because it was such an important mission. Your grown-up may want to discuss the meanings of new words with you. Use your phonics to help write words to describe how Hal may have felt. Please write the words around your picture of Hal.
In Maths, we will be learning to understand that some events last more than one day and recognise that different events can take up different numbers of days. Think about something you did that lasted more than one day, e.g. a trip to stay at a relativeʼs house, a holiday, an outing. How many days did it last? In your home learning book, draw an example of a special occasion that lasted more than one day. Then underneath your picture, write how many days your event lasted, e.g. 5 days.
It is National Smile Month. You all have such wonderful smiles! Today, we are going to think a little more about our smiles. When somebody smiles, what can you see? Yes, you can see teeth. It is important to keep our teeth healthy. How can we keep our teeth healthy? We should brush our teeth regularly. Share the brushing your teeth sequencing cards with your grown-up and discuss. Talk to your grown-up about the importance of brushing your teeth. Use the sequencing cards to help talk about how you should brush your teeth, e.g. by making sure you brush the insides of your teeth.
We know that sugar is not good for our teeth. Milk is good for our teeth because it has calcium in it which is great for our teeth and bones. On Purple Mash, design a healthy dinner to show the type of food that is good for our teeth.
Remember to say a big thank you to your grown-up for helping you at home with your learning.
We hope you have a good day. Keep smiling!
