Wow, that went quickly, it's Friday already! Let's finish the week with a flourish.

Maths

Today, I’d like you to do some work on addition using expanded column method and have a worksheet for you to complete in your home learning book on our blog. Look at this link from our own website to remind yourself of the process (start at 2 mins 20 secs to 3 mins and 45 secs): Expanded column method

English

Now have a look at your English work from Monday. Today, I’d like you to re-write your ‘Great Day Out’ from Monday in your home learning book – are you able to include lots of interesting adjectives and sensible conjunctions in your writing? Remember, "There is no such thing as good writing, only good rewriting." Robert Graves, famous writer and poet.

Handwriting and spelling

First, I’d like you to write a line (at least three times per line) of these words from our common exception list: accidentally; disappear; guide; mention; caught and medicine in your handwriting book (remember to use your fantastic cursive writing and a finger space between each word). Then, rather than a spelling test I would like you to create 6 sentences (use one word per sentence) using the same words - accidentally; disappear; guide; mention; caught and medicine. You might first need to find out what the word means and then write each sentence in your home learning book - try and make your sentences as interesting as possible.

Times Tables

Please log in to your Times Tables Rock Stars account, go into the Garage area and play for around 10 minutes, I think you’ll be surprised at the improvement you will make!

Art

Today, I’d like you to choose a mug from your home and draw it in your home learning book – here’s a clip to show you how: How to draw a mug. Then add an ancient Greece design and/or scene of something happening.
