St Peter and St Paul's

St Peter and St Paul Catholic Primary Academy

It's Friday and what a busy week we've had! Just look at all the art we've done over the past few weeks, it's amazing! We have another weaving exercise this afternoon - you're going to enjoy it! Hope you have your coloured paper and glue ready! Happy weekend everyone, and thank you to our home teachers for all their hard work.

Quiz: What type of dog is this? He's really cool!

Here's our work for today Friday 3 July 3.7.2020

Spelling - Adding the endings -ing, ed, and er to verbs

Spelling Test – Ask your adult to test you on the words you have been learning.  You can use your spelling test book or the 5th attempt column.

Maths – Comparing Numbers

Warm up - Count up to 100 in 2s, 5s and 10s!

Today we are going to revise greater than, less than and equals.

Now go through the PowerPoint and see if you can tell your grown-up all the answers.  That was a lot of talking! Well done. Now have fun completing the alligator worksheets.

English -  Jim and the Beanstalk

Download the PowerPoint and read the story. Read up to the point where Jim slides down the beanstalk and ‘landed below in a heap’. Now let’s look back at three events in our story.

1) The first meeting

2) when Jim first helps the Giant

3) When the Giant threatens to eat Jim.

Can you record Jim and the Giant’s responses from each of these scenes in the story? Use the PowerPoint to help you complete the worksheet. Write what each character says in the bubbles.

Mindfulness – Paper Weaving Owls

We are going to use our paper weaving skills in this lesson and create a paper owl or two! You will need different coloured paper, at least 3 different colours. Use up any scraps you have at home. You can colour in plain white paper in the shades you would like if you don’t have any coloured paper. Watch

Now do some paper weaving of your own. You can make as many owls as you like and string them up to form a banner.

Ask you grown-up to take a picture of you and your work and send it in to school for our blog!

Awesome Animal Friday - Owls

Watch this short clip about owls. What an amazing bird.

Now get a paper, pencil and colours and follow the clip to draw an owl. Pause the video whenever you need to. Have fun! I’d love to see them! Start at 1.04!
