English   I want My Hat Back

Have you seen any film trailers? Yes we have. We watched the trailer for Polar Express, remember? Watch the book trailer for I Want My Hat Back

Does the trailer tell you everything that happens in the book? Why not? Does this trailer make you want to read the book?

Go through the Hats PowerPoint. Each sentence begins with ‘I saw a hat once.’ There are lots of describing words, adjectives! On the last slide there are lots of pictures of hats. Write your own sentences for the hats, all beginning ‘I saw a hat once.’ Describe each hat using adjectives. Do as many as you can in the time you have.

*Remember to use a capital letter to begin the sentence with a full stop at the end.

Yesterday we talked about William the Conqueror. Why did he come to England? That’s right. To come and fight Harold to be king. Can you answer these questions? I hope so. Use yesterday’s PowerPoint if you need help.

  2. How old was he when his father died?
  3. How do you know he was brave and fearless?
  4. Who was his cousin in England?
  5. What did he say his cousin had promised?
