I have wings but I am not a bird, I am small, colourful and beautiful, I live in gardens and fields and forests, I used to be a caterpillar - Who am I ?

Here is our work for today Monday 18 May

English   Tadpole’s Promise

We have a letter from Jeanne Willis, the author of Tadpole’s Promise! Read it on the worksheet. She wants us to create a booklet about caterpillars and butterflies and how they grow and change! We can start by looking at the pictures on the worksheet. Cut out the pictures and paste them you’re your book in chronological (time) order. Write a sentence under each one to explain what change has happened. E.g. The tadpole has grown a tail OR The caterpillar is fatter.

Maths  Part-whole relationship number bonds

Let’s remind ourselves about the bonds of 10. Remember to look for the patterns we learned about at school. If we know the number bonds of 10 then we will know the number bonds of 20.

Topic Work  Growing and Planting

You know that a plant needs water in order to grow, but how does the water you give your plant feed it? Here’s a little experiment. You can try it at home. If you don’t have celery you can use white flowers, maybe even an onion!

What did you learn? Download the worksheet How do stems work. Write your answers on page 2 then draw the experiment on page 3.

RE Sorry

Watch I’m Sorry by Sam McBratney

Have you ever had to say sorry to a friend? We sometimes make the wrong choices and have to say sorry. Download the PowerPoint. What do you think happened in the picture on the PowerPoint? Read the questions and tell your grown-up your answers.
