Monday 11th May 2020

Good morning Year 2,

I hope you had a nice bank holiday weekend and did something nice to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day.

Once again please feel free to make the necessary adjustments yourself to any of the activities to help your child work independently or with more support if needed. Remember the Twinkl website has been made free to parents and carers during the Lockdown so is great to search for alternative and additional resources.

Here are your activities for today, Monday 11.5.20

Follow the link below for todays Maths lesson on BBC Bitesize.

In today’s lesson you will learn how to add and subtract two-digit numbers and tens.

This lesson includes:

one slideshow

three activities

Please just do as many of the activities as you can.

Ask your grown up to test you on your last spellings. Please use your spelling book for this, and write todays date at the top as usual.

*Attached are your spellings for next week. Please learn as usual ready for next weeks test.

Follow the link below for todays English lesson on BBC Bitesize.

In today’s lesson you will refresh your phonics knowledge and apply it when writing sentences about exploring.

This lesson includes:

a game to help refresh your phonics skills

three activities to do at home

Use your Home learning book to write your sentences. Don’t worry if you can’t complete all of the activities today, just try to do as much as you can.

Follow the link below for todays History lesson about the Fire of London, from the London Fire Brigade. Can you answer the questions as you watch the video?

Use the sheet attached* or use your Home Learning Book to draw your design for a Firemark.

Choose a book and read at least 5 pages to your grown up.

Now, list all the adjectives that you read in your Home Leaning Book.

Have a look at the * Egg Carton Flowers activity.

Can you follow the instructions to complete your own piece of art?

If you haven’t got an empty egg carton today, you could create a flower picture in your own way, and do this activity another day.
