Good morning year 6. Let us start with the sign of the cross.

Spelling Test: Teacher to dictate the words for children to write in their books.

English:To write a character description.

Read chapter 5, discuss what has happened-highlight the new character, who is he? Describe his appearance. How does Michael feel about him? How did Stella react to him? In twos, children are given 5mins to annotate a picture of Kensuke-looking at his appearance and personality. Read text from screen (attached below)Write a character description of Kensuke.

History:To compare Viking weapons to present day weapons. Please see powerpoint attached below.

Viking weapons were heavy and strong. The blacksmith would make these as well as jewellery. The metal would be heated up and then banged into shape. To make a weapon stronger, it would be plunged into cold water.

Children to choose the weapon that they would like to make and do a detail sketch in their Art Book. They can include carving and use the Viking ruins.
