Please join me for another day of learning fun!

Daily Learning Blog – Thursday, 30th April

Kon'nichiwa! Here are today’s absolutely amazing, fantastically fun, deliriously delightful learning tasks for you today. Enjoy!

Note for parents: I will be using a new resource for maths lessons from time to time, ‘White Rose Maths’. If for any reason there are any difficulties in accessing this website, please let admin know so that I know to use a different resource moving forwards. Thanks :)

English

LO: Using inverted commas

  • Before you begin, it’s important to point out that inverted commas are often referred to as ‘speech marks’.  They mean the same thing, but the learning link uses the word ‘inverted commas’.
  • Follow this link, watch the videos, and complete activity 3 in your home learning book.

Maths

LO: Numbers with 2 decimal places

Computing:

LO: Coding

  • For this activity, we will be using Busy Things and coding a mini-program
  • I wasn’t able to assign the activity, but if you follow these links, it should work:
  • Tutorial: https://www.busythings.co.uk/lgfl-login/?activitytag=bc_tutorial_1
  • The commands are along the right side of the screen. Once you’ve placed all your commands, press the green ‘Play’ button to test your code.
  • Once you complete the tutorial, you may carry on to the challenges if you wish  – but be warned, they are much more difficult!

French:

LO: Different foods in French

  • Open the attached document. There’s no need to print it.
  • Match the pairs of words and write both English and French words in your home learning book, so that you have pairs of words that mean the same thing.
  • Use the internet (Google Translate works well) to find out the ones you don’t know.

That’s all for today! See you tomorrow.
