Good Morning Acorns,

We hope you have enjoyed learning about seals. Today we will be looking at a new sea animal called a sea otter. What is a sea otter? Take a look at this video and see what interesting facts you can learn about the amazing sea otter. This is the link you will need: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wn9kx4lGlpE

Then share the ‘Sea Otters’ PowerPoint with your grown-up and discuss. What have you learnt about sea otters? What did you find interesting? Can you write a fact about sea otters that you found really interesting? For example, a group of sea otters resting together is called a ‘raft’.  This is something new that we learnt.  Adults learn everyday, just like you do.  Remember to write a golden sentence.  You must include a capital letter, finger spaces and a full stop at the end of your sentence.

This week we have looked at two new sounds, 'ay' and 'igh'.  We would like you to practise blending letter sounds together to read new words.  The Green word PowerPoint 2 has been attached for you to use at home.  Please look at the words containing the 'ay' sound and the 'igh' sound.  You will need to scroll through the PowerPoint to find these words.

In Maths we have been learning about numbers up to 20. Today, we will be thinking about ordering numbers up to 20. Count up to 20 aloud and then see if you can count from 20 back to 0.  We have attached the fish number track if you would like to use this at home.

Now it is very exciting because you are going to make your own number track from 0-20. You will need a piece of paper and a pencil or a felt-tip pen. Please write 0 on your paper and then leave a big space before writing number 1. Write all of the numbers from 0 to 20. Once you have completed this task, you will need to cut out each number. We have attached a blank number grid because this will make it easier for you to write each number in a box and then cut out all of the boxes. Can you put the numbers back into the correct order? Now stick the numbers into your home learning book.

In RE, we are going to think about ‘God’s Wonderful World’. Let’s begin by listening to a song. This is the link you will need: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsHdALRQkbc Did you like the song? We are very lucky to have such a wonderful world.  Discuss with your grown-up all the special things that make our world so wonderful.  For example, all the amazing animals and beautfiul plants and flowers.  Can you paint a picture of God's wonderful world?  You may want to paint planet Earth or think about a different way of showing God's wonderful world.

We have been learning all about different sea animals.  God created lots of amazing animals.  If you had to create an animal, what would it be like?  Would it live in the sea?  Would your animal fly?  Can you describe your animal?  Can you be a super-star and paint a picture of your animal on Purple Mash?

We have attached an ‘Under the Sea Cutting Skills Activity’ for you to complete at home. This will help you to practise how to use scissors effectively. If you do not want to use this sheet, you can make your own sheet with paper and colouring pencils. You can draw lots of different sea creatures and then cut them out and stick them onto a piece of card to create an under the water picture scene.

We hope you have a great day.  Keep smiling!
