Good Morning Acorns,

Thank you for your wonderful pirate ships, we had some very good designs!  We believe the pirates will be very impressed.  Keep up the good work!

In Literacy, please watch this short video showing a green sea turtle eating.  This is the link you will need: https://oceana.org/marine-life/sea-turtles-reptiles/green-turtle

To celebrate our learning and conclude our turtle work, we would like you to create a turtle.  This can be done in a variety of ways, such as painting, junk modelling, collage or drawing.  We have attached the ‘The Green Sea Turtle’ PowerPoint to help you at home.  Afterwards, please write a label to accompany your art work.  Remember to form letters carefully.  You and others need to be able to read your writing.

In Maths today, we will be practising how to form numbers correctly.  We will be focussing on numbers up to 20.  If you would like to focus on numbers beyond 20 this is fine.  You might want to write numbers up to 100. Remember to form your numbers correctly.  Number formation sheets have been attached to help you at home.

This afternoon, we would like you play a game with your grown-up.  As we have been thinking about different sea creatures, we thought it might be fun to have an ‘animal action’ game.  You will need to do this activity in an open space, such as your garden.  Your grown-up will say an animal and then you will need to become that animal.  You will need to do actions to show that you are that particular animal.  For example, Move and roar like a lion or slither like a snake.  Then swap roles!  It is time for your adult to get active.  You call out an animal name and your grown-up must do the actions.  For example, your grown-up might gallop around the garden like a horse or become a rabbit and bunny hop.  We think your grown-ups will love this activity!

Please practise blending letter sounds together to read simple words.  The Green Word PowerPoint has been attached.  Choose 10 words and see if you can write them in your home learning book.

We hope you really enjoyed the animal game last week.  Let’s finish today with a sea creature guessing game.  You must call out the name of the sea creature before the time runs out!  This is the link you will need: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQdutXqqzKg

We hope you have a lovely weekend.  Enjoy the sunshine!
