Maths  Subtraction

If we don’t have a number line and our number is really big we can also use our HEADS! If your subtraction was 66 – 4 it would take forever to draw 66 objects. So we use our head. We put the big number 66 in our head (make a fist and touch your forehead to remember we are working with the number 66). We need to take away 4, so we count BACKWARDS 4 numbers from 66, using our fingers to count the four numbers by putting one finger up for each. Ready? Go. 66 (in your head) 65,64,63,62. The answer is 62! Use this method to complete the worksheet.
