Monday 4.5.20 Year 2 Daily Blog

Good morning Year 2, I hope you had a nice weekend.

Before we start our school activities for today, I just want to take a moment to reassure your grown ups that they are doing great! We are living in very different and strange times at the moment and it’s something totally new and different for us all. We don’t want your home-schooling experience to be a stressful one, so please do what works for you and your family. If sticking to our daily timetable works for you, then great, but if you prefer to do things at different times of the day, then that’s fine too. The work we set is of a general Year 2 expectation, but as I’m sure you can appreciate some children will be working towards this level whilst others are exceeding it. Within the classroom setting, we, as teachers are able to differentiate this work fully and support each individual child’s needs. However, during these very different times it is impossible to do this. Please feel free to make the necessary adjustments yourself to any of the activities to help your child work independently or with more support if needed. I would also encourage you to go to the Twinkl website https://www.twinkl.co.uk/ to search for alternative and additional resources, as this has been made free to parents and carers during the Lockdown. And remember, it is just as important during this time to make memories and have fun! Play board games together, do some baking, paint a picture, watch a film, do a jigsaw, dance to your favourite music, sing songs, build with Lego, read books, plant seeds, go for a walk and keep smiling!

Here are your suggested activities for today:
