Good Morning Acorns,

Thank you for your amazing splash pictures, they have certainly brightened up our day! We’re sure the frontline workers would really appreciate your lovely work.

Today we have some new challenges for you to complete at home. In Literacy, we have been sharing a story called Whatever Next by Jill Murphy. Recently, you decided on a destination that you would like to travel to. Please reflect on your chosen destination. Imagine, you’re going on a trip to your destination. If you could take a friend or family member with you on your trip, who would it be? Can you draw a picture of your person in your home learning book? Then write a sentence underneath your drawing. For example, I would take my nan to the beach because I love her so much. Another example could be, I would go and play in the jungle with my friend. Please use your phonics to help spell new words.

In Maths we have been learning about shapes. Today we are going to get creative! Please see the PowerPoint attached showing different pictures of shape rockets. Which shapes can you see? Can you describe the shapes? Can you design a shape rocket? You can either draw your rocket by drawing different shapes. Or you could cut pieces of card into different shapes and then create your rocket. Then you can stick your shape rocket into your home learning book.

For your first topic activity, we would like you to think about the story we have been sharing in Literacy. Please think about the destination you chose. On Purplemash, can you paint a picture of your chosen destination? Are you travelling to a jungle? Perhaps, you might like to travel to a different planet. Think about what you might see? Can you paint a picture to show this? We will look forward to seeing your pictures.

During Expressive Art and Design lessons, we look at different musical instruments and the sounds they make. Can you make a loud sound? Can you make a quiet sound? We would like you to explore the Musical Sequence activity on Purplemash. You will need to drag and drop sounds into the grid provided. We hope you will enjoy exploring harmony and building up musical scores!

We hope you have a wonderful day.
