St Peter and St Paul's

St Peter and St Paul Catholic Primary Academy

I hope everyone managed to complete the learning yesterday. If you have any problems your parents can email the Academy. I'm looking forward to seeing you today on the Live Lesson at 10:00am, I think there are about 8 pupils who have accepted their Google Classroom invite so far, it will be great to see a few more of you. The details are below. Hopefully the technology won't defeat us!

08:55 – 09:05

Morning Prayer:

For this new morning with its light, For rest and shelter of the night, For health and food, For love and friends, For everything Thy goodness sends, We thank Thee, dearest Lord.

Amen.

Spend 10 minutes practising your spellings. I have attached a word search if you would like to practise them in this way. You will have 10 minutes after PE to continue with this. No peeking at the answers until you have found all the words!

9:05 – 09:50

PE – Try to be active for 45 minutes

This is a link to a Joe Wicks workout that you may want to try https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhHY8mOQ5eo

If this isn’t your thing, go for a walk or a run with an adult (if they have time) or dance to your favourite songs.

Warm down with some cosmic yoga – this one is the wizard of Oz – one of my favourite films https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_3weVPH0-U

10:00 – 10:30

Live lesson:

Log into Google Classroom and at 10:00am click on the meet link on the banner (where the busy bees picture is).

To get into Google Classroom:

1- Open a computer/chromebook/phone and open the Google Chrome web browser

2- Top right corner sign into google with the xxxxxx.305@stpstp.co.uk email (this was sent out earlier in the year with other logins)

3- Click on the waffle (the 9 dots arranged in 3 lines of 3) in the top right hand corner and select Drive

4- Once in Drive, click waffle again in top right and select Classroom

You will need to accept the invite.

I will take a quick register, go through online behaviour protocols and share the Wednesday Word with you. Each day the live lesson will be something different.

10:30 – 11:00

Break

11:00 – 11:20

Phonics. Watch the following video on the ‘ay’ sound – set 2. For some of you this will be a revision lesson, for others this will be brand new learning.

11:20 – 12:00

English: To predict what might happen next. To use the conjunction ‘but’ . To punctuate sentences using a capital letter and a full stop or exclamation mark.

Go through the PowerPoint. Hover over the speaker and press play for explanations and activities.

Write your own sentences using the conjunction ‘but’.

12:00 – 1:15

Lunch

1:15 – 12:15

Maths: To add ones using number bonds.

Use this link to watch and practise how to add by using number bonds https://vimeo.com/490879867

Use the sheet at the bottom to complete the questions – it doesn’t need printing out – you can just write the answers down. Challenge: Try writing and completing some of your own number bond questions

I have attached the answer sheet – an adult can mark your work with this when you have done.

2:15 – 3:00

Science: To identify and name a variety of everyday materials

Have a look around your home, the classroom or on the Internet for things that are made out of:

Wood, Plastic, Glass, Metal, Water, Rock.

Draw one or more things that are made out of each material and label it with the name of the material.

e.g. I might draw some pieces of lego and label them with the material plastic.

Can you write 3 describing words for each material?

e.g. metal: hard, shiny, strong
